This course is the FDA-recognized curriculum to become a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) as per the FSMA Preventive Controls for Human Foods Rule. According to the Preventive Controls Rule, the PCQI is responsible for: 

  • Preparation of the Food Safety Plan
  • Validation of the Preventive Controls
  • Records Review
  • Reanalysis of the Food Safety Plan

This two-and-a-half-day course trains individuals to implement food safety practices within their facility using the standardized curriculum and through the use of break-out groups geared towards developing a model food safety plan.

Registration cost of $600 includes the training materials, lunches, refreshments, and a registered certificate from FSPCA. Cost is $450/person for companies sending 3+ participants, and $200 for UGA Extension Agents/Specialists. Participants must be present all 3 days to receive their certificate.
