Can Food Safety Training be Fun?
Have you been on the fence about getting a food safety framework going on your farm? Have you been wondering when the questions surrounding water sampling requirements would be resolved? Do you have a traceability and mock recall designed for your product?
We're excited to bring food safety ideas to light using case studies and hands-on analysis to help growers envision how to implement good agricultural practices and reduce food safety risks.
Travis Chapin is our State Specialized Agent for food safety and we'll get the story straight from him about what you can do on your farm to reduce risks associated with food safety.

Who is this Workshop For?
This workshop is intended for small farmers in Southwest Florida.
What Will You Learn?
This one-day course is for those who have already attended a food safety training and are looking for a more in-depth and hands-on experience. In the workshop you will visit a local farm and do a hands-on analysis of food safety standards, and have an opportunity to start or expand your Farm Food Safety Plan.
This course is not a substitute for a PCQI or PSA Grower Training for FSMA.
Coffee, snacks and lunch are included in the registration fee.
Please note the normal fee for this class is $40, but due to grants received from the Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council to assist Small to Mid Size Growers in SWFL, the registration is subsidized.
Put the petal to the metal on your food safety knowledge and plan!
