GFVGA continues to work with state officials to keep our members informed of best practices and the latest guidelines on COVID-19. With no shortage of media coverage and social media experts on the continuing pandemic, knowing where to turn for trusted information is more important now than ever.
As the number of available COVID-19 testing options continues to increase, both through private providers and public health departments, GFVGA reached out to the Georgia Department of Public Health for their advice on how to best obtain testing should the need arise.
For the most up to date information on testing in your area, GDPH recommends clicking the “Call for Covid-19 testing” option from their home page. This will provide you with links to a searchable list of local and district health offices across the state. All individuals who wish to be tested can contact any Georgia public health department to schedule an appointment at a SPOC location convenient to them. Direct Patient lines are open: 8:30am to 7:00pm Monday through Friday and 8:30am – Noon on Saturdays.
Finally, if you are interested in group or targeted testing for your agriculture operation, GDPH recommends contacting your district health department. You can access a full directory of GDPH district offices by clicking here.
